About
"I have always loved the thrill of finding a great deal, so shopping secondhand was both practical and a fun way for me to fill my closet. When I was a junior in college, I decided to resell a few pieces from my closet, and I was shocked when they sold immediately and for more than I had purchased them for at my local thrift. I was hooked. I've been reselling clothes ever since and have expanded my business to offer consignment services both locally and around the United States. What started as a service offered to a select number of friends and family skyrocketed in 2020 when many local donation centers were closed for a period of time and people were then left with unwanted items stored in their homes. Providing an outlet for people to offload their unwanted clothing, shoes, and accessories while helping them make a profit showed great value to many then and now!"

Why Shop Secondhand?
Beyond secondhand clothing being easier on the wallet, it is significantly more sustainable than buying new. Here’s why...
1. Textile waste - When clothes are discarded by people, it generates an enormous amount of waste. But when those garments are used to their full capabilities, “clothing can be used on average for up to 10 years before touching a landfill”—this helps reduce the approximate 14.3 million tons of textile discarded into landfills every year.
2. Eco-friendly - “Approximately 1,800 gallons of water are required to make one pair of blue jeans. The water that is used to make these clothes, instead of getting lost as industrial waste, can now be used for other purposes, like drinking water.”**
3. Recycling - “Second hand clothing encourages and develops a recycling community.”** When you buy secondhand, you get to enjoy quality clothing items that will last significantly longer than any fast fashion item would, for relatively the same cost...that's where I come in. 🙃
I do the treasure hunting for you, finding quality items that you can purchase online at @handpickedbyhan from the convenience of your bed, couch, workplace and/or gym, for a fraction of what it would cost you buying retail. 💛
